Job Title: Aircraft Mechanical Engineer
Reports to: Chief Design Engineer
Work Hours: Fulltime, On-site Monday through Friday, 6:30am-3pm
About the Role:
The Aircraft Mechanical Engineer is responsible for developing aircraft designs, testing, and fine-tuning them, and ensuring safe practices during the assembly process. Specifically, this involves providing design drafts and working in and with the engineering team to improve designs considering aerodynamic principles, air safety, passenger comfort, and the customer.
What You’ll Do:
- Design new parts for aircraft improvements
- Determine and implement improvements to existing parts and assemblies
- Create new part drawings and assembly procedures using Solidworks
- Revise existing drawings and assembly procedures in Solidworks to reflect improvements
- Work with assembly mechanics to determine optimal assembly process and tooling that would expedite assembly process
- Develop tooling to help with assembly
- Work with customers to troubleshoot any problems or damage to aircraft
What We’re Looking For:
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering
- 3 years’ experience in a related field preferred
- 3 years’ experience with Solidworks preferred
