Opportunity

As an Engineer – Data Center Supplier Quality, KPS, you will have the opportunity to impact Kohler’s ability to meet customer requirements by driving quality throughout Kohler’s Data Center customers.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Data Center products and services by collaborating with these suppliers to improve their processes and enhance overall quality while meeting rigorous customer demands.
This position will interface with Kohler Power Systems customers, and internal engineering and sales teams at all levels of the business.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop third-party sources ranging from large enclosure manufacturers to power distribution equipment and SCR’s.
All sourced manufacturing is likely not seen at a Kohler Power Systems site before shipping to the customer so quality control and efficient time management is critical to meeting customer needs.

  • Collaborate with these customers to ensure compliance with stringent customer and internal requirements.

Quality Assessment:

Root Cause Analysis:

  • Lead root cause analysis investigations for quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and execute corrective action plans in collaboration with manufacturers and customers.

Quality Standards Compliance:

  • Facilitate factory witness tests for customers at Data Center sourcing sites.
  • Conduct regular process audits to verify compliance with quality requirements.

Quality Issue Resolution:

  • Lead all root cause analysis and corrective action closure at Data Center sources.
  • Act as the face of third-party quality control for issues that arise from customer complaints.
  • Travel to customer sites for issue resolution as necessary.

Process Improvement:

  • Work closely with Data Center sources to identify and implement process improvements that enhance product quality.
  • Provide guidance and support to manufacturers in implementing best practices.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from ABET accredited program in Engineering, Quality, or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred experience using systematic problem-solving approaches: 6 sigma, root cause analysis, statistical analysis, and 8D problem-solving.
  • Preferred experience developing Standard Operating Procedures and ISO processes.
  • Ability to travel, up to 40%, on short notice is required.

Skill Preferences

  • Experience with 6 sigma problem-solving methodology.
  • Preferred Experience with UL, CSA or other building and electrical codes for large enclosures is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with Automotive Industry Action Group’s (AIAG) processes for Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).

We will consider applicants requiring sponsorship for this opportunity.

The salary range for this position is $76,050 - $96,050.
The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
