The development and improvement of internal SOPs and Best Practices along with increased regulatory compliance measures require this next level of involvement and attention. Examples include: Standardization with the other Divisions in Gas Operations Operations Excellence (PSMS) rollout, training, and support Small project review, support, & management PHMSA compliance measures HCA & Class location encroachment committee DOT annual reporting support Engineering Standard reviews SOP compliance reviews GIS, Engineering and As-built record support Gas and Liquid pipeline integrity support Pipeline permitting process Essential Duties And Responsibilities Implement entire project cycle for small field generated plant improvement projects including scope, design, development, material procurement, construction and project completion. Communicate with company operations personnel and contractors for small project implementation. Implement entire project cycle for medium sized commercial expansion projects including scope, design, development, material procurement, construction and project completion. Work with operations personnel to help improve field compression reliability, which includes compressor performance and over pressure protection of pipelines. Work with Facility Planning group, to obtain simulation results for gathering system expansion projects. Work with plant operations personnel (daily) to help improve plant operations (troubleshooting). Take part in PSM activities for area facilities. (Help maintain facility drawings, resolve PHA action items, etc.) Maintain facility process simulations and work with senior process engineers to develop process solutions while following engineering standards, code compliance, proper company and safety standards, and good engineering practices. Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen engineering knowledge base and proficiencies. Requirements Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below: Bachelor of Science Degree – Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil preferred) Minimum 3 – 6 years’ experience in pipeline simulation, modeling, principals, and practices required. Experience with multiphase pipeline and/or plant simulation software: ProMax Experience with compressor modeling software preferred. Extensive experience with compressor performance analysis, primarily Ariel Compressors, along with gathering field compression station operations. Understanding of pipeline MAOP/OPP protection as related to field compression. Ability to manage and execute multiple projects concurrently with multiple staff layers of varying skills and experience. Knowledgeable in hazardous liquid and gas engineering principals, standards and specifications and industry and regulatory rules and regulations pertaining to the 49 CFR Parts192 and 195 for pipelines and related facilities plus other industry standards, guidelines, and codes. Analytical ability to review, understand and interpret engineering drawings, alignment sheets, survey data, GIS data, and industry and regulatory codes and standards. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Travel and overtime required periodically. Engineering Programs Preferred Qualifications Previous Natural Gas industry understanding 3 – 6 years Engineering project experience Working Conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Usually, normal office working conditions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
