The purpose is to maintain a high level of safety and efficiency in the infrastructure and all the systems.Essential ResponsibilitiesPerforms all preventative maintenance assigned within the allotted time frame. Preventative maintenance will be assigned for general maintenance and/or within their specialty education.Provides general building maintenance such as electrical maintenance, HVAC maintenance, boiler maintenance plumbing maintenance, basic construction material repair and maintenance such as sheet rock, base moldings.Assists with the smooth and efficient operation of the departmentProvides excellent service to improve appearance and function of facilities.Assists in maintaining a culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, creativity, team work, high performance and quality.Organizes on-duty time to accommodate workload, including unanticipated changes in workloadUses good judgment in handling situations not covered by written or verbal instructions.Has the ability and willingness to independently seek and perform work on general maintenance issues in their area of responsibilityProvides leadership and role models high quality and responsive customer service.Collaborates and cooperates with director and assistant director for identifying and implementing changes in work processes.Provides daily summary reports to leader for priority and efficiency evaluation. Reports all equipment, system, and safety issues to leader . Passes all pertinent information to the following shift.Frequently inspects buildings, equipment, and safety systems using subject matter and industry expertise to note and correct deficiencies.Responds to emergencies involving utility failures, building, life safety, and security.Operates Computerized Building Management Systems and other system controls.Performs other related work as required.Qualifications and RequirementsEducation: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Building training and/or trade school education in specific pertinent fields preferred. Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in all aspects of building maintenance preferred. Mechanical, HVAC or Electrical repair experience required. Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance required.About Yakima Memorial HospitalMultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital has served the Yakima Valley since 1950. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $22.12 - $31.82 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
