The Engineering Co-op assists the engineering staff engaged in the development of technical solutions for new products and improvements to existing products by performing tests, documenting, and interpreting results. This co-op is for an individual who has completed their freshman or sophomore undergraduate year and is 100% onsite in our Newbury, OH plant. The hours are Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week. The successful candidate would ideally work at least three (3) semesters at Kinetico. The co-op will begin Fall 2024 . A pay increase for each subsequent semester returned is available. Key Areas of Responsibilities Assembles and dissebles test units, adheres to and monitors testing protocols, measures parts, and documents results. Performs special projects within scope of engineering capability related to product development initiatives. Documents design specifications using 3D CAD models and tolerance drawings. Validates final designs through laboratory testing to meet product, quality, and safety specifications. Analyzes and presents results of experimentation to cross functional teams. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Currently working towards Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability and desire to collaborate with others and work in a cross functional team setting. Interest in component and system design, preferably for consumer products. Good mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach. Experience with design processes and tools such as engineering calculations, stack-up analysis, DFMEA, DFM; CAD preferred.
