About The Role
Assemblers are critical to Spellman's success, creating the designs crafted by Engineering to meet our customer's rigorous requirements and quality expectations. You will assemble chassis, racks, and top assembly units by following drawings, procedures, manufacturing instruction operation sheets, Bill of Materials (BOM's) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN's).
Responsibilities
  • Read and understand Electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Assemble solder components on circuit boards.
  • Build HV Power source prototypes. Create wiring harnesses from schematics.
  • Sheet metal fabrication, cutting, drilling, and bending.
  • Use a drill press, lathe, and milling machine.
  • Encapsulation processes with RTV and epoxy Document items as built.
  • Assemble the products (mechanical and electrical), according to the documentation, drawings, and specificities of the customer.
  • Perform the necessary tests and validations, ensure that the product is per QA requirements.
  • Define the production steps, tooling and templates required for the mass assembly of products.
  • Document the methods and processes of assembling products for volume production. Assist in the transfer of products to NPI.

Requirements
  • Community college Diploma in Electrical Engineering with some experience a lab. Technician.
  • Prototype or HV power Supplies building, Testing and documenting experience of 2 or more years.
  • Be able to use measuring equipment, rulers, micrometer, caliper, basic math skills.
  • Be able to use machine tools, drills, lathe, jig saws to fabricate metal parts. Be able to understand and follow Electrical schematic and wiring knowledge for assembly.
  • Be able to solder Leaded and Surface Mounted for electrical / Electronic components.
  • Should possess computer skills; email, word, excel, basic hardware procurement as needed.
  • Should possess record-keeping skills for detailing OEM projects (i.e. Blue Book) and housekeeping of Engineering labs.
  • Able to lift 30 lbs.
Our good faith estimate of the wage range for this role is $17 - $19. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a full benefits package.
