Engineering Manager - Project IKEOverviewStep into a career-defining opportunity with Orano USA, a global leader in nuclear innovation, as we launch Project IKE—a cutting-edge uranium enrichment facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As the Engineering Manager, you'll be you’ll be at the forefront of building one of the most advanced clean energy infrastructures in the country. You'll also serve as the primary technical interface for internal stakeholders and project partners. The role spans conceptual design, detailed design oversight, construction support, commissioning, and facility operations planningKey Responsibilities:The Engineering Manager will lead and coordinate all engineering activities for the owner/operator organization of Orano's Project IKE Nuclear Uranium Enrichment Facility.The Engineering Manager requires broad, multidisciplinary engineering expertise and strong leadership skills to ensure that all engineering work is technically sound, regulatory-compliant, and aligned with the project’s safety, schedule, and budget requirements. Other responsibilities include: Lead and coordinate all engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Instrumentation & Controls, Electrical, Civil/Structural, HVAC) throughout the project lifecycle.Serve as the Engineering Point of Contact for the owner organization; approve technical decisions, oversee design development, and ensure integration across systems.Ensure engineering deliverables comply with NRC regulations, DOE expectations, and ASME/ANSI standards applicable to enrichment and nuclear facility design.Manage interfaces with the Systems Engineering teams, licensing teams, EPC contractor(s) and equipment vendors.Support technical reviews, risk assessments, and design verifications.Support Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA) development and licensing documentation.Provide input to procurement specifications and ensure equipment and systems meet design and safety requirements.Develop and manage the engineering schedule and support budgeting for engineering resources.Facilitate technical resolution of field issues during construction and commissioning.Champion Configuration Management and Design Control processes. ***Qualifications and Requirements: All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity.Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or related discipline). Minimum 10 years of experience in complex industrial facilities, including at least 5 years in a nuclear or NRC-regulated environment.Broad experience across major engineering disciplines: Mechanical, I&C, Electrical, Civil/Structural, HVAC. Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordination with EPC contractors.Knowledge of NRC 10 CFR Part 70 requirements and quality assurance.Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical writing skills.U.S. Citizenship required due to regulatory and export control constraints.Master's degree preferred.Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.This position requires access to classified national security information. In accordance with U.S. government regulations governing such access, only U.S. citizens (natural born or naturalized) are eligible for a security clearance.
