Pay Rate: $68-85/hr (Contract) | FTE Salary Range: $110K $150K + Benefits

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Contract: 6 12 months (Client prefers Direct Hire, open to Contract/C2H)

  • Shift: 1st Shift

  • Industry: Aerospace / Defense / Aviation

Summary:

  • Lead and provide technical guidance to a team designing and developing new and legacy products.

  • Maintain overall technical authority for assigned product segments.

  • Facilitate cross-functional teamwork using open communication, concurrent engineering, and continuous improvement principles.

  • Plan, organize, schedule, and manage team activities to meet project goals and deliverables.

  • Support engineering efficiency and productivity initiatives; develop improved techniques, processes, and standards.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to analyze customer requirements and develop cost-effective design solutions.

  • Provide timely technical guidance and support to Operations for production issues.

  • Prepare and participate in design meetings, program reviews, and technical proposals (RFP, RFQ, RFI, IFB).

  • Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team; conduct performance appraisals and recommend personnel actions.

  • Contribute to engineering department budget planning (CAPEX/expenses) and manpower requirements.

  • Ensure designs are manufacturable and support continuous product improvement and innovation.

  • Identify new opportunities and develop proprietary technology and product platforms.

  • Travel may be required; occasionally carry up to 60 lbs. over distances (~ mile).

Requirements:

  • US export control eligibility for any required government authorizations.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Advanced degree preferred).

  • 12+ years of product design experience.

  • 8+ years of engineering project management experience.

  • 6+ years of engineering management experience supervising technical teams.

  • Experience leading teams designing engineered products for customers.

  • Experience with metallic materials, metal fabrication processes, and finishes.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with MS Office, 3D CAD/CAE software (SolidWorks preferred), and PDM systems (SolidWorks PDM desirable).

  • Knowledge of GD&T and drawing standards.

  • Resolve technical problems, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with customer personnel.

  • High motivation, results-oriented, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

  • Advocate for and foster cross-functional teamwork and concurrent engineering.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.

  • Ability to track, analyze, and make decisions based on project/program data.Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
