Engineering Program Specialist, Battery
The RL Battery team is focused on delivering custom batteries for all Reality Labs Wearables/VR products. This work includes the custom design and manufacturing of battery cells, Power Control Modules (PCMs) / Battery Management Units (BMUs, pack assemblies, and all certifications, algorithms, and validation testing associated with the designs. The products we work on help connect the world closer together and help power those devices! The RL Battery team seeks an Engineering Program Specialist who has experience supporting large cross-functional teams to deliver custom batteries at scale. You'll be a critical member of the battery team, removing barriers to your team's success, managing Clear-to-Build (CTB) for the engineering manufacturing builds, supporting new purchase requisitions and purchase order invoice reconciliations, collaborating closely with the Battery TPMs to convert build matrices to CTB plans, and providing regular status updates to the TPM team on CTB status for all battery programs. This is a contract position based in our Sunnyvale or Redmond office, or remote in PST time zone
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with engineering and TPM to compile and manage Clear-to-Build (CTB) component tracking and deliveries for all programs and battery suppliers
- Create Purchase Requisitions and maintain Purchase Order invoice reconciliations
- Manage material shipments and logistics in collaboration with both Meta, Battery suppliers, and qualification testing sites
- Ability to translate information from existing build matrices to a CTB plan for each supplier
- Work on multiple projects concurrently
- Direct communication skills with Battery supplier EPMs and Meta Battery TPMs
- Provide regular status updates, flag risks, and blockers to respective Battery TPM program owners
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in battery or hardware development, working with contract manufacturers in Asia
- Ability to manage complex spreadsheets, clear-to-build component tracking, and coordinate across different teams, vendors and time zones
Must have Skills:
- Ultra-organized, with experience in large-scale consumer industries.
- Background in consumer electronics.
- Experience managing clear-to-build processes for complex projects
Nice to have Skills:
Battery industry experience
