About the Opportunity
We are currently partnering with a leading consumer packaged goods organization to hire a Project Engineering Manager. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will drive complex engineering projects from concept through execution within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
As a Project Engineering Manager, you will lead the planning, design, and execution of capital engineering projects while guiding and developing a team of engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Project Design & Planning:
- Develop engineering designs, material specifications, cost estimates, and feasibility studies. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Execution & Implementation:
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and plant teams to successfully deliver projects. Oversee installation, validate fieldwork, and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Project Management:
- Define scope, manage budgets and timelines, review proposals, and oversee contracts. Provide consistent updates to leadership on project progress and performance.
- Leadership & Development:
- Mentor and develop engineering talent, promote a collaborative team environment, and drive engagement through coaching and performance management.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify risks, improve processes, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of engineering/project experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of leadership experience managing engineers or technical teams
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management, and contract administration
- Experience with construction scheduling, installation practices, and applicable codes/standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel up to 50%
