Engineering Technician

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to join our team at Stanadyne, a global leader in automotive fuel and air management systems. The Engineering Technician will support engineering and manufacturing teams in the design, testing, and implementation of new and existing products and processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality, process efficiency, and technical excellence on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities:

Product & Process Support:

  • Assist engineers with the design, build, testing, and validation of components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Support prototype development and perform functional and durability testing.
  • Document and analyze test data and provide feedback to engineering for process and product improvements.
  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI) activities, including process setup and validation.

Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement:

  • Support manufacturing process improvements to increase efficiency, safety, and product quality.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to ensure smooth equipment operation and minimal downtime.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.

Technical Documentation & Quality:

  • Maintain accurate documentation, including work instructions, test reports, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure all work meets company and customer quality standards.
  • Support engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change notices (ECNs).

Equipment & Tooling:

  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory and production testing equipment.
  • Assist in the design and fabrication of fixtures, tools, and gauges used in production and testing.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
    • High school diploma with equivalent hands-on technical experience will also be considered.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment (automotive industry preferred).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Experience with test equipment, measurement tools, and data collection systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
