About the role The Engineering Technician supports the Engineering and Product teams by performing hands-on testing, validation, and technical support for new and existing products. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and thrives in an agricultural or industrial environment. The Engineering Assistant will help build, test, troubleshoot, and document product performance, while supporting day-to-day engineering needs inside our facility and test chamber. What you’ll do Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence working with tools, equipment, and machinery. Familiarity with electrical wiring, basic circuits, and safe handling of high-voltage systems. Ability to read and understand basic electrical diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings. Hands-on mindset with willingness to build, test, troubleshoot, and learn. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently once given direction. Comfortable working in a shop, lab, or industrial/agricultural environment. Experience in agriculture, mechanical equipment, ventilation systems, or industrial machinery. Experience working with oscilloscopes, power analyzers, or data acquisition tools. Prior testing, validation, or quality control experience. Proactively maintain and execute a prioritized testing schedule; ensure timely follow-through and documentation. Plan, develop, and execute test protocols that align with AMCA standards and industry requirements. Create and maintain accurate test scripts, data logs, setup documentation, and formal test reports. Conduct or assist with unplanned and root-cause testing arising during product development or field issues. Assemble, install, and modify test fixtures, prototype components, and mechanical assemblies. Build and maintain test equipment, jigs, sensors, and measurement tooling as needed. Assist engineers with shop-floor projects, product builds, and facility testing setups. Perform troubleshooting on mechanical systems, electrical components, and wiring layouts. Support prototype fabrication, including cutting, drilling, wiring, mounting, basic machining, and assembly work. Work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Technical Support teams to ensure testing aligns with product requirements and project timelines. Communicate clearly on testing progress, potential manufacturing concerns, and quality issues identified during validation. Participate in team meetings and provide updates on test readiness, results, and material or fixture needs. Maintain reliable and consistent testing programs that support internal quality standards. Follow safety protocols when working with tools, machinery, and high-voltage systems. Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability. Support general engineering projects and shop-related tasks as assigned. Assist with equipment maintenance, tool organization, and facility upkeep as needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Automation Engineering Technology or other related field preferred. 1+ years relevant work experience required. Experience in agriculture, mechanical equipment, ventilation systems, or industrial machinery. Experience working with oscilloscopes, power analyzers, or data acquisition tools.
