Job Summary
The Engineering Technician I supports engineering and production teams by performing technical tasks related to product assembly, testing, documentation, and process support. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build hands-on experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment while following established procedures and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with the setup, testing, and evaluation of products, components, or systems
- Perform basic assembly, disassembly, and modification of parts and equipment
- Collect, record, and analyze test data and results
- Follow engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or process issues
- Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reports
- Support continuous improvement and process optimization efforts
- Comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical coursework or associate degree preferred
- Basic mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and instructions
- Proficient with basic hand tools and measurement devices
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills (data entry, email, documentation)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, and move for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25–40 lbs as required
- Manual dexterity for handling small components and tools
