Engineering Technician I

Job Summary
The Engineering Technician I supports engineering and production teams by performing technical tasks related to product assembly, testing, documentation, and process support. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build hands-on experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment while following established procedures and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist engineers with the setup, testing, and evaluation of products, components, or systems
  • Perform basic assembly, disassembly, and modification of parts and equipment
  • Collect, record, and analyze test data and results
  • Follow engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or process issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reports
  • Support continuous improvement and process optimization efforts
  • Comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical coursework or associate degree preferred
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and instructions
  • Proficient with basic hand tools and measurement devices
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills (data entry, email, documentation)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, sit, and move for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25–40 lbs as required
  • Manual dexterity for handling small components and tools
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing, laboratory, or production setting
  • May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
