Entry Level Shop/IT Technician Apply
Computer Village and CVIT are seeking a Shop Technician to join our technology repair and service team in San Dimas. This position is designed for someone who is already comfortable working with computers and technology and wants to build a professional career in IT . The role focuses on hands‑on technical work including device repair, system configuration, troubleshooting, and customer support. You will begin by working on real customer systems and technical issues, developing practical experience diagnosing problems and delivering reliable solutions. As you demonstrate technical ability, reliability, and initiative, this role can grow into Level 1 IT support and higher technical positions within the company. We are looking for individuals who are naturally curious about technology, enjoy solving technical problems, and take pride in doing careful, high‑quality work. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair desktops, laptops, and other customer devices Perform hardware upgrades, component replacement, operating system installs, malware cleanup, and troubleshooting Configure new computers and devices including updates, drivers, software installation, and data migration Document technical findings, repair steps, and recommendations clearly in the ticketing system Assist with intake, labeling, tracking, and organization of customer devices Maintain a clean and organized technical workspace Assist customers with basic product and service questions when needed Follow established technical procedures and documentation standards Take ownership of assigned repairs and ensure work is completed accurately and professionally Growth Path L1, L2, L3 IT Technician Field Technician Systems and infrastructure roles over time Qualifications Comfortable working with computers, operating systems, and common software tools Hands‑on experience with PC troubleshooting, hardware replacement, upgrades, or similar technical work Strong logical troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose technical issues methodically Attention to detail and ability to document work clearly Professional communication and customer service skills Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks Reliable, punctual, and self‑directed Strong interest in developing a long‑term career in IT Preferred Qualifications Experience repairing computers or electronics Familiarity with Windows installation, troubleshooting, and system configuration Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, routers, switches, Wi‑Fi) Previous experience in a repair shop, IT helpdesk, or technical support role What We’re Looking For We are looking for people who genuinely enjoy working with technology and solving technical problems, and who approach the work professionally.
