​​​​​​We are seeking an entry level engineer to join our team. This candidate must be able to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using professional judgement and acquired knowledge to solve complex industry problems.

RELAY SETTING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage relay setting development for SEL, GE, ABB, and other relay manufacturers.
  • Develop short circuit analysis and coordination studies with CAPE and ASPEN.
  • Perform relay mis-operation analysis with Wavewin and SEL SynchroWave.
  • Perform arc flash analysis with ETAP.
  • Develop and review NERC compliance verification reports for all PRC NERC standards. These include PRC-019, PRC-005, PRC-025, PRC-026, PRC-027, etc.
  • Manage specific projects to develop relay settings for Wide Area Coordination
  • Develop relay settings for generator projects.
  • Apply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, load flow and short circuit studies.
  • Apply engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI.
  • Communicate and coordinate project activities with project engineer, customer representatives, and others as needed, as well as provide excellent client/customer service.
  • Perform engineering support tasks such as relaying, lighting, load flow, and short circuit analysis.
  • Gain hands-on knowledge by occasionally visiting job sites with supervisor.

DESIGN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be responsible for the design and quality control of system protection and control projects for utility substations. This includes one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bill of material, etc.
  • Be responsible for the design and quality control of physical design projects for utility substations. This includes electrical plans and profiles, grounding plans and details, conduit and raceway layouts/details/schedules, Bills of Material, and calculations such as voltage drop, conduit fill, breaker sizing, etc.
  • Interface with internal and external team members, such as Principal Engineers, Project Engineers, Electrical Designers, Physical Designers, Draftsmen, Project Managers, outside contractors, and support organizations.
  • Work with a team to meet project specifications, cost control, and schedule objectives.
  • Interact with clients and take a leadership role in assigned aspects of the projects.
  • Be involved with project site evaluations and preparing engineering scope.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of system protection and power system analysis.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer and software skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 1-year related industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
