Job Description

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. This role will drive a strong safety culture across the division through a hands-on leadership approach, coaching teams, and promoting continuous improvement in safety performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and enforce division-wide safety programs and ensure accountability across teams
  • Communicate safety goals, progress, and performance to employees and leadership
  • Identify, develop, and manage required safety training and certification programs
  • Implement and maintain effective EHS training initiatives across the division
  • Monitor, track, and report EHS key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including air and water permitting requirements
  • Integrate safety and environmental standards into daily operations
  • Provide coaching and guidance to employees to improve safety awareness and performance
  • Drive employee engagement in safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
  • Oversee contractor safety programs and ensure compliance with company standards
  • Evaluate and report contractor safety performance
  • Manage occupational health programs in alignment with regulatory requirements
  • Oversee onsite health-related responsibilities, including training and certifications
  • Lead risk identification and mitigation processes, including hazard assessments and safe work procedures
  • Ensure proper incident investigation, reporting, and implementation of corrective actions
  • Manage workers’ compensation cases and related processes


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety, or a related field with 3–5 years of manufacturing experience; OR 10+ years of relevant manufacturing or operations experience
  • Prior supervisory or managerial experience in EHS or a related function preferred
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and influence employees at all levels
  • Proven ability to build and maintain high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience implementing and managing safety programs in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to lead by example and promote a culture of safety
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


Industry Preference:

Candidates with experience in wood/lumber, steel/metals, waste management, cement, or similar heavy industrial/manufacturing environments are strongly preferred.


Additional Information:

  • This role requires a hands-on approach and active presence on the production floor
  • Experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments is highly preferred
