Our Southeast Environmental Business is looking for an Environmental Engineer to join their team in the Atlanta area. In this role, you will be tasked with supporting and managing GHD’s existing environmental projects in Georgia and surrounding states in the southeast. This role requires a strong technical background in environmental assessment, remediation, compliance, and/or due diligence. In this position, you’ll work on a portfolio of environmental assessment, remediation, and compliance projects, participating in multidisciplinary teams through the planning, design, and execution of environmental compliance, due diligence, assessment, and remedial programs. You’ll build strong client relationships through clear, proactive communication and focus on cost‑effective, innovative solutions. You’ll also be hands‑on in the field, planning and implementing work such as sample and data collection, monitoring well installation, groundwater monitoring, and remediation system operation and maintenance, coordinating remedial action activities, and overseeing contractors and field staff when required. Hybrid Work Model Our workplace thrives on a hybrid model, combining in‑office collaboration and flexibility. Join us in the office three days a week to contribute, connect, and excel in our vibrant environment. This position can be based in either our Buford office or Atlanta office. Key Responsibilities Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats independently. Engineering Drawings: Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions. Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation. Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization’s HSE policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks. Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities through assessment and development planning activities, training, and coaching. Technical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments. Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals. Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant client systems. What you’ll bring to the team Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering Professional Engineer license preferred or ability to obtain licensure 4‑10 years of environmental project experience, including coordination and management of site investigation, remediation, and monitoring projects Experience completing multi‑media site investigation and remediation tasks Experience coordinating and balancing multiple tasks while maintaining high attention to detail in a consulting environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to conduct effective client presentations and report preparation Ability and willingness to travel throughout GA, AL, SC, and NC up to 25‑50% of the time, including short notice and multi‑week field work Experience with environmental due diligence (Phase I/II ESAs) is a plus As a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
