Job Description Atlantic Health seeks a full‑time Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to support the Occupational Health & Safety Program. The program protects employee safety, minimizes regulatory, environmental, and workplace risks across the organization. The intern will contribute to regulatory compliance, sustainability initiatives, and Environment of Care activities, gaining hands‑on exposure to occupational safety operations in a healthcare setting through project work and shadowing experiences. Responsibilities Support Occupational Safety Officers with workplace safety and environmental health initiatives Assist with regulatory compliance across sites and care centers Participate in Environment of Care support activities Contribute to sustainability projects, including expanding practices to urgent care centers Track and trend occupational injuries and illnesses using Excel and internal reporting systems Develop safety communications such as newsletters, educational materials, and risk mitigation resources Gather and organize compliance documentation and project materials Assist with sustainability reporting and data analysis Shadow Occupational Safety Officers during inspections, assessments, and field activities Support special EHS and Sustainability projects as assigned Qualifications Currently enrolled full‑time in an accredited college or university Majoring in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Engineering, Sustainability, or related field Good academic standing Legally authorized to work in the United States (U.S. citizen, national, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident) Work 37.5 hours per week; commit to a minimum of 375 hours for the duration of the internship Must complete internship from June 2026 – August 2026 Strong interest in occupational health, environmental compliance, and sustainability Interest in learning about hospital operations and Environment of Care standards Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel General computer literacy and analytical skills Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a structured environment About Us Atlantic Health System provides high‑quality care across more than 20,000 team members in Morristown, New Jersey.
