Environmental Health And Safety Manager Apply
Responsible for the identification and assessment of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) issues and continually improve performance through the development and implementation of programs focused on prevention. Coordinate all EHS compliance activities including investigations, compliance, analysis, education, and training. Provide EHS expertise for daily operations and the development and promotion of related policies and procedures through all assigned facilities, including NF Crookston and the United States Service Centers.
- Review, monitor, and ensure execution of emergency and hazard response activities.
- Review, monitor, and ensure execution of worker’s compensation claims reporting, administration, and recordkeeping, including claims management and return to work.
- Review, monitor, and ensure execution of all health programs, including Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), hearing tests, Pulmonary Function Test, and Respirator Fit Tests.
- Review, monitor, and ensure all EHS investigations to ensure appropriate internal and external reporting, root cause and corrective action are implemented and followed-up to completion.
- Monitor and actively participate in guidance and advice on current and future production activities and facility initiatives ensuring compliance with applicable EHS acts and regulations. Prepare detailed reports, recommendations, and proposals.
- Review, monitor, and ensure identification and development of EHS education, and delivery of training and required certification.
- Review, monitor, and ensure EHS inspections are taking place, and follow up action is taken.
- Develop and deliver EHS initiatives to continuously improve policy and programs.
- Review, monitor, and ensure appropriate monitoring and assessment of occupational exposures from the various processes.
- Implement and monitor elements of the waste management system. Maintain monitoring and reporting requirements of air emissions, industrial and hazardous waste disposal, storage tanks, storm water permitting, sewer permitting, chemical purchase/storage, and water discharge programs.
- Review, monitor, and ensure accurate statistical data, reports, and analysis of EHS conditions in support of reduction goals.
- Liaise with EHS Managers at other facilities to ensure safety program consistency and standardization of programing.
- Monitor changes in EHS regulation and legislation to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental permits, licensing, and compliance requirements; liaise with management to ensure compliance and integrated into operation.
- Review, monitor, and ensure Laser Safety program is established maintained where required.
- Review, monitor, and ensure policies and processes are established and adhered to.
- Provide guidance, advice, and as required, hands on support in all EHS related issues.
- Actively participate in the standardization and integration of EHS practices and procedures. Work in conjunction with US and Canadian operations for standardization in operations and management systems.
- Share ideas regarding successful initiatives to ensure best practice identification and transfer among facilities including process harmonization and standardized management system.
- Support functional areas in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the management system based on ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements, including internal audit program oversight to ensure closure and resolution of deviations.
- Provide operational leadership of security personnel, including day-to-day support.
- Responsible to ensure all key controls (ICFR Internal Controls) identified under their area of responsibility are designed and operating as outlined in the internal controls over financial reporting.
- Ensure policies and processes are established and adhered to ensure goals and objectives for all regulatory and legal requirements are met including organizational quality, environmental, health & safety programs.
- Support safety related meetings and Internal audits as required.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local occupational safety and health rules and regulations, NFI Group management, and the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Requirements
- Occupational Safety and Health Degree, certificate, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.
- Knowledge of OSHA, and Workers Compensation.
- Knowledge of general industrial hygiene.
- Knowledge of First Aid/CPR/AED.
- Knowledge of planning, conducting, and tracking EHS compliance and hazard assessments.
- Knowledge of JSA, JHA and GAP analysis.
- Knowledge of planning, creating, and delivering EHS training.
- Strong Interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analysis skills.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel, Access, Visio).
