Job Position: Environmental Health & Safety SpecialistDuration: 6 monthsLocation: Sumter, SC 29153Job Description:The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing programs and policies that ensure the overall safety and health of employees, and that enable compliant business operations.Applies in-depth knowledge of EH&S laws, regulations, and management systems.Job Responsibilities:Key player in all Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives on-site.Acting as the deputy EHS Leader when the EHS Leader is absent.Actively participates in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.Acts as a Subject Matter Expert as a member of the EHS Team.Acts as an influential leader in site safety and sustainability campaigns.Interacts with the authorities and insurance companies as site representative on technical EHS topics.Maintain technical expertise in Machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and other relevant safety programs.Core contributor to the ISO 14001 certification.Education and Experience:Bachelor of Science degree or an Associate of Science degree in a Technical Field, and 5 or more years of relevant manufacturing experience.Experience in managing environmental compliance including reporting and record keeping, environmental permitting for manufacturing operations, and regulatory compliance.Experience in evaluating/interpreting OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
