Contract- 3 Years

Position Overview

The Environmental Specialist plays a key role in supporting the Environmental Test Lab's QA/QC group, ensuring accurate and compliant analytical services for regulatory reporting, contract verification, and asset protection. This role provides essential support for sample receiving, sample kit preparation, and laboratory quality processes, helping ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality services to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work safely and proactively identify and report unsafe conditions

  • Assist QC project managers with sample receipt, including sample logging, pH checks, and proper labeling

  • Clean and prepare sample containers and build sample kits (including transformer oil kits)

  • Maintain sample supplies and inventory to support lab operations

  • Communicate with customers delivering samples and ensure proper routing

  • Support QA/QC compliance by partnering with laboratory personnel to maintain data integrity and quality management standards

  • Follow technical procedures and coordinate QC processes to ensure accurate analytical results

  • Assist across lab areas as needed during peak workloads or special projects

  • Maintain detailed records and support documentation requirements

  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, logging, communication, and data tracking

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field

  • Minimum of 15 semester hours in Chemistry preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in a lab environment or analytical QC support

  • Familiarity with analytical method QC practices

  • Knowledge of OSHA lab safety requirements (29 CFR 1910)
