Summary of Role : Equipment Engineer Manufacturing Equipment / Metrology

This equipment engineering position is for a Senior Engineer who will support Metrology semiconductor production tools. The primary responsibilities of this position are to sustain the manufacturing production line, participate in troubleshooting of equipment issues, and work with equipment and process team on tool improvements. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and exhibit a high-level of interest in understanding and solving complex technical problems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience: 4-6 years of semiconductor equipment experience
  • Must have Metrology Equipment Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, and internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization and experience in working with external constituencies.
  • Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments. Familiarity with 5S, 8D, 6-sigma, SPC, DOE, FMEA.
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor industry and onsemi protocol/requirements, wearing all required clean room protective clothing and equipment up to a 12 hour day and lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues.

Salary: onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $71,200 to $114,000 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong project leadership, organization and excellent communication skills.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety and Security requirements and programs.
  • Strong Electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in leading teams with an emphasis on project leadership fundamentals, effective communication and spending justification.
  • Equipment engineering skills with solid experiences in resolving tool related challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of Predictive and Preventive Maintenance techniques.
  • Prioritize and run daily operation and maintenance teams daily resources on shift to ensure efficient floor operations includes internal and vendor resources
  • Be technical resource to support 24x 7 operations within Metrology area
  • Structured problem solving / troubleshooting tool issues and supporting resolution
  • Ensure maintenance system is updated and kept current with team activities
  • Reduce unplanned down time and improve planned down time predictability
  • Work with management team and operations to drive continuous improvement, standardization, cost reduction and operational efficiency within operation and maintenance
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety and Security requirements and programs.
  • Setup and maintain FDC, PM specification, and other quality systems for the assigned tools.
  • Support yield and Continuous Improvement activities
  • Use lean manufacturing and six sigma processes.
  • Support installation of new equipment as well as sustaining of existing tools.
  • Develop and train the equipment technicians. Create materials and perform training of technicians working on tools in the area.
