Duties

  • Responsibility for determining mission essential operating equipment requirements, planning replacements, availability of substitutes, and level of utilization, priority of acquisitions, and recommending repair or disposal of equipment items.
  • Serves as Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Oversees service and equipment contracts to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Analyzes utilization data with command supervisors/managers to determine whether the command has excess equipment, and whether they need replacement equipment or not.
  • Identifies equipment items that are no longer economically repairable or in excess status and provides disposal/transfer authority approval to the command APO.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Equipment Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.
To qualify at the GS-09 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience to the GS-07 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.
Creditable specialized experience includes:
  • Reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements; analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements; reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders; analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met.

    Next steps

    Once you successfully complete the application process, you will receive a notification of receipt.
