ERP Project Manager

Chicago area steel service center seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead the implementation of a new ERP system and drive operational efficiency across our growing organization. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a proven track record in technology and manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead implementation of new ERP system, managing transition from current system to newer platform.
• Provide post-implementation user support to employees at multiple company locations, including training, troubleshooting, and documenting best practices.
• Coordinate with external consultants and technology providers to manage ERP version upgrades, test new features and configure changes.
• Evaluate, recommend and implement ERP system enhancements to take full advantage of available system functions.
• Prepare regular status reports outlining project progress and critical decisions.
• Streamline existing procedures and workflow to optimize benefits of ERP system.
• Collaborate with production and administrative managers to develop, prioritize and manage future projects to improve operational efficiency throughout organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, or related field
• Minimum 7 years’ business experience including at least 3 years in manufacturing or information technology
• In-depth knowledge of ERP systems and business software applications.
• Proven leadership and project management skills with a collaborative approach to problem solving.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of manufacturing including plant processes and quality management systems such as ISO 9001, is a plus.
