Estimator, Restaurant Mechanical SystemsExemptReports To: Director Of Operations and GovernanceLocation: On-Site M-F Ball Ground, Ga or Mansfield, TXSummary of Position: The Estimator is responsible for estimating construction jobs such as tenant improvements, remodels, and renovations. The Estimator may also source materials and other needed resources (such as subcontractors or equipment) for projects to ensure the lowest acquisition cost possible.Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:Estimating from blueprintsEstimate HVAC and mechanical systems specific to restaurant environments, including kitchen exhaust systems, make-up air units, refrigeration support, and code-compliant mechanical infrastructure.Providing written proposalsEffective communication with customer and team members to ensure complete understanding of project scopeEvaluating pre-existing site conditions through on-site visits with Customer and/or subcontractors in order to provide a correct bidNegotiating pricing with suppliers, subcontractors, and sellersGather thorough estimates from all parties including subcontractors, project material quantities, owner-approved items, and laborInterpreting and reviewing subcontractor quotes for comprehensivenessUtilizing software package to put in quote estimatesEvaluate potential suppliers and subcontractors and negotiate best pricing as well as volume discountsAssist with the ordering of materials by issuing purchase orders and scheduling deliveriesAssist with valuing and formation of change ordersAcquire specs and cut sheets for plumbing fixtures, tile, cabinets, appliances, etc. as selected by Customer and identify those items with long lead times.Identify budget shortfalls/windfalls via project autopsies and improve estimating process and database accordinglyAssisting when a project is in progress to resolve pricing, entries, and logic inquiriesMaintain cost database/pricing updates in estimating software package and evaluate systems to streamline estimating processCoordinating sub-contractors as neededFacilitate purchasing of needed materialsUnderstanding of jobsite protocols specific to project and siteAssist with permitting as neededAbility to recognize problems outside of scope and effectively address with customer or team membersMaintaining composure when faced with adverse situations and rapidly changing environmentsAbility to manage time and prioritize.Maintain accurate records, purchase logs, expense reimbursement forms, and other documentation.Update company software systemsAttend regularly scheduled conference calls.Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner.Performing duties with minimal supervisionOther duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to excel at each duty outlined above and have the following knowledge, skills, ability and background.
