The Estimator is responsible for managing the vehicle repair estimating process from intake through job completion, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction. This position serves as the key liaison between customers, technicians, and insurance partners to maintain efficient repair operations and proper documentation of all estimates, approvals, and billing.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates in accordance with company standards and insurance guidelines.
  • Perform thorough vehicle inspections to identify damage and required repairs.
  • Communicate directly with customers, insurance adjusters, and technicians to explain findings and manage expectations.
  • Enter and update all job information into CCC1 estimating software (or equivalent), maintaining full documentation of repair authorizations and supplements.
  • Track repair progress, ensure completion within estimated timelines, and maintain communication with customers throughout.
  • Review completed work for quality and accuracy prior to delivery.
  • Coordinate closely with the Parts Manager to ensure all necessary components are ordered and available prior to production start.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical job files, ensuring accurate records for billing and audits.
  • Support shop management with periodic reporting, invoicing, and accounts receivable reconciliation.
  • Uphold company policies regarding safety, documentation, and professional conduct.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in automotive estimating or collision repair.
  • Strong knowledge of auto body repair techniques and insurance procedures.
  • Experience with CCC1 or similar estimating software preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with QuickBooks preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
