Exciting Opportunity: Estimator Position in Commercial Construction Industry

Gpac, a distinguished recruitment company with a legacy spanning over 30 years, is thrilled to announce a partnership with a well-established firm in the commercial construction industry, specializing in drywall projects. We are actively searching for a highly motivated and experienced Estimator to join our partner's expanding team. This presents an exceptional opportunity for candidates looking to advance their careers in the construction industry.

Position: Estimator

Responsibilities:
  • Generate precise and timely cost estimates for commercial drywall projects
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to identify project scope and objectives
  • Conduct takeoffs and quantity surveys for necessary materials and labor costs
  • Obtain and review subcontractor bids and proposals
  • Evaluate subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Develop detailed project budgets and cost reports
  • Track project costs and make adjustments as needed
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in material and labor costs
Essential Job Functions:
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Knowledge of construction codes, regulations, and best practices
Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in commercial drywall estimating
  • Strong knowledge of drywall systems, materials, and installation methods
  • Familiarity with industry software such as On-Screen Takeoff or Planswift
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and terms
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
