Q Center is looking for a Full Time Time Event Set-Up Houseperson to join our team!

Job Summary

The Conference Set-up Houseperson is responsible for the set-up, refresh, tear down and maintenance of all meeting space per client specifications. This position will follow the Banquet Event Order to complete all work assignments for the meeting space; ensuring amenities, audio-visual needs and supplies are available prior to the start of the meeting. The Conference Set-up Houseperson will work closely with the event planning team to ensure quality service and guest satisfaction.

The schedule for this position is varies, will include some evenings and weekends.

Starting rate for this position is $17/hour.

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience required and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.

Fundamental Requirements

  • Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests and fellow employees.
  • Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention.
  • Know how to read the Banquet Event Order and be familiar with room sets.
  • Ensure the correct and timely set up of all Banquet Event Order functions; comply with last minute changes with regard to equipment and additional supply needs.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the meeting space, pre function space, and storage areas to include the carpet, walls, doors, windows, etc.
  • Maintain the storerooms in a neat and organized manner, stock with any and all appropriate supplies necessary for meetings as requested.
  • Be familiar with fire exit and extinguisher location, and follow all safety rules.
  • Maintain radio contact with the Department Staff and other Departments throughout shift, responding to all inquiries in a timely manner using proper etiquette.
  • Breakdown the space after the completion of functions and ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored properly.
  • Handle equipment, such as, tables, chairs, audio visual displays; transport, store and ensure all equipment is in good repair.
  • Refresh meeting rooms as needed.
  • Notify management of any hazards.
  • Handle items for Lost and Found according to the standards.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction and safety is achieved.
