We're seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant to be the driving force behind our Chief of Staff, playing a pivotal role in advancing our mission to improve and protect the health of all Washingtonians. As the primary executive support for our Chief of Staff, our Executive Assistant will be at the forefront of initiatives that make a real difference. Responsibilities Will Include
  • Strategic Calendar Management: Take charge of the Chief of Staff's calendar, scheduling appointments, speaking engagements, and travel arrangements. Be the maestro behind the scenes, ensuring seamless coordination in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional Communication: Independently compose, edit, and type correspondence on behalf of the Chief of Staff. Serve as a communication link between the Chief of Staff and various stakeholders, including agency staff, state agencies, legislators, and the public.
  • Information Mastery: Stay informed on emergent issues, political landscapes, and public health activities. Summarize information, make recommendations, and contribute fully as a member of the Office of the Chief of Staff leadership team.

Qualifications and Experience
:
Experience defined below may have been gained through paid or unpaid activities. Please ensure any relevant experience defined is outlined in your cover letter, resume, and/or applicant profile.

  • Option 1:
    Four (4) or more years progressively responsible, recent experience (within the last 6 years) providing professional-level administrative support to a senior level manager (Washington Management Service Band 3 manager or higher or equivalent).

  • Option 2:
    Four (4) or more years of administrative experience similar to administrative support such as office work or professional business experience.

AND
experience in the following:
  • Knowledge of government organization, business operations and administrative procedures, government functions, office methods and procedures, research and data collection, and state and agency functional and personnel policies.
  • Organizational skills, including but not limited to the ability to prioritize work, find information quickly, complete work and return to critical tasks in the midst of multiple interruptions, and multi-task and handle issues quickly but accurately.
  • Independently managing time and tasks.
  • Composing, editing, and proofreading professional communication materials, including correspondence for executive level or governors office signature.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience using Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet.
