Chelsea Hospitality Group (CHG) is a family-owned hospitality company based in New Jersey, dedicated to creating world-class food and beverage experiences. CHG’s latest project in Morristown, NJ involves managing multiple food and beverage outlets within a sustainably built, mixed-use property. These outlets include a ground-floor restaurant, conference catering, pantry services, and pop-up concepts.

Job Overview: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Executive Chef to lead culinary operations for this new property. This is an incredible opportunity to join the team at the ground level and develop an extraordinary F&B program. The Executive Chef will oversee menu development, kitchen operations, and the production of high-quality dishes, while managing a team of culinary professionals. This role involves collaboration with internal and external clients to customize menus for daily meals, corporate events, meetings, and functions.  We are looking for a visionary leader with a passion for hospitality and an eye for detail, backed by reputable fine dining and/or catering experience. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Develop and implement a culinary strategy that exceeds guest's expectations 
  • Oversee menu development and food service across multiple outlets. 
  • Lead the kitchen team in executing high-quality food production. 
  • Collaborate with clients for customized event menus. 
  • Hire, train, and manage the kitchen staff. 
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and compliance. 
  • Source and nurture supply chain in line with defined company standards. 
  • Develop, train and execute menus and recipes that align with company WELL standards and guidelines. 
  • Develop and maintain clear systems and standards of operations to ensure all areas of BOH are set up for success. 
  • Help create and cultivate individual development plans to nurture a culture of growth and fulfillment. 

Requirements

What we need from you: 

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef, preferably in a fine dining and/or catering environment. 
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification. 
  • Strong knowledge of culinary trends, techniques, seasonality, supply chain, and menu development. 
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets, inventory, and food costs. 
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards. 
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for events. 
  • English fluency and Spanish knowledge preferred.  
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
