The successful candidate will be a leading scholar with a PhD or an MD/PhD and a minimum of 3 years of relevant leadership experience, including administrative and financial stewardship. The role requires a visionary leader with a strong record of publication and significant, consistent grant funding, and entrepreneurial experience is a plus. The Executive Director will provide scientific leadership, a personal vision for research groups, and be responsible for the institute's administrative and financial management. The position is accompanied by significant resources and new faculty appointments to enhance research and educational programs. The ideal candidate will continue to foster collaborative research, engage in entrepreneurial activities, and expand the Institute's scientific reputation and visibility. They will have the opportunity to build on existing strengths and pursue new initiatives, including the appointment of new members from various schools within the university. The Executive Director will report directly to the Chancellor and is expected to be appointed in the Department of Genetics in the School of Arts and Sciences, with adjunct positions in other departments as appropriate. Access to advanced genomic technologies and state-of-the-art microscopes is also provided. Candidates must demonstrate qualities of leadership, vision, and innovation, and the desired appointment start date is July 1, 2021.
