As an Eyeglass Assembly Associate, you serve a critical role in the distribution process to ensure the timely, accurate and efficient filling of eyewear orders. Each pair of eyeglasses are made to the specific needs of the ordering customer based on a valid, written prescription and the associated measurements. As an Eyeglass Assembly Associate, you will be trained in these essential Eyeglass Assembly Associate job functions:
What you'll do:
Mount each lens in the correct and associated frame using tools (screwdriver for metal frames, heat (hot air) for plastic (zyl) frames, drill for drilled rimless frames and stretcher for semi-rimless frames) and complete assembly process. Ensure alignment and balance of frames and clean lens. Mounting of lenses will follow the prescription and associated lens measurements. This process will all be executed in compliance with ANSI Standards
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:30am-6pm
Starting Pay Rate: $15.13/hour
Responsibilities:
· Associates are required to follow all training & work instructions relative to the assembly of optical eyewear in performing duties as assigned
· Work with the right lens first and then left lens to ensure proper lens placement
· Maintain daily production standards as outlined during training to meet the goals of the work unit. Work cooperatively and foster a team atmosphere
· Ensure job are stacked in accordance with tray priority standards (date order).
· Maintain a clean and orderly work area
· Associates are required to occasionally work overtime as scheduled by their supervisor and based on production needs.
Requirements
What you'll need:
· dexterity for fine manipulation of tools used in the assembly process
· The ability to meet job standards established by US Vision
· The ability to perform minor repairs as necessary on frames and lenses (eg. replacing eyewire, replacing nose pads, manipulation of frames based on curve of lens, etc.)
· Keeping a clean, organized workspace
· The ability to stand for 8 hours
· The ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
· The ability to recognize surface imperfections
· The ability to meet USV determined job standard for both quality and productivity
· The ability to understand and perform standard bench alignment
Skills/Knowledge:
· Basic optical knowledge. ABO certification a plus
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Good working knowledge of Excel and the Windows operating systems
· Detail and Process Orientated
· Highly organized
· Good problem-solving skills
· Good teamwork
