Summary This role is essential in overseeing the manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency and quality in our production operations. The Manufacturing Manager will play a key role in leading our team and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Open the shop for the day, to ensure that everything is in place for the day's production to run smoothly and efficiently. Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to supervisors to improve skills, safety, and productivity. Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance product quality and efficiency. Create detailed production schedules based on project requirements and deadlines. Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of shop equipment, including CNC machines, welders, grinders, and other fabrication tools. Manage the ordering, inventory, and maintenance of tools and equipment used in the shop. Verify that raw materials (metal, components, etc.) are available for the day's production needs. This includes checking inventory levels and ensuring that orders or shipments of materials are on schedule. Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, and logistics, to ensure materials and resources are available on time. Communicate production timelines and expectations clearly to all parties involved. Regularly review and ensure adherence to fabrication and assembly procedures, blueprints, and specifications. Promote a positive, collaborative work environment and resolve any personnel issues. Oversee the entire operation of the fabrication shop, ensuring smooth workflows and coordination among different departments or work areas. Develop and implement production schedules to meet project deadlines. Allocate resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to ensure production targets are met. Monitor daily production activities to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently. Work with supervisors to make sure their teams have everything they need and are prepared for the day. Qualifications Leadership and Management Skills : Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, make decisions, and manage both people and resources effectively. Technical Knowledge : In-depth understanding of metal fabrication processes, including welding, machining, cutting, and assembly. Problem-Solving : Ability to quickly identify issues and develop solutions to keep production on track. Attention to Detail : Strong focus on quality control and ensuring that products meet the required specifications. Safety Awareness : In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to ensure a safety-first culture in the shop. Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, management, suppliers, and customers.
