Job Title: Facilities Maintenance & Engineering Manager Location: Conway, SC (Onsite) Type: Direct Hire Bonus & Relocation: Eligible Availability Requirement: Must be available 24/7 as needed, by phone and/or onsite. Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance & Engineering Manager with a strong engineering and PLC controls/automation background to lead plant maintenance, reliability, and automation initiatives at a growing manufacturing operation. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant, process, and utility systems, while driving long-term reliability, productivity, and capacity improvements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who can balance strategy, execution, and team development in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Reliability Leadership Ensure safe, reliable operation and maintenance of all plant and process equipment Set goals, track performance, and continuously improve equipment reliability to meet plant and business objectives Manage preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance programs Oversee spare parts management and maintenance planning Ensure reliable and economical supply of utilities and gases Develop and manage departmental budgets to achieve productivity and cost targets Provide technical expertise and supervision of process control and PLC programming Perform maintenance and support of existing automation systems, including software backups Test and validate control logic and system performance Develop, modify, and document control programs to accepted standards Determine hardware and software requirements for continued operational effectiveness Design control panels, layouts, wiring schematics, and bills of materials Develop computer programs to assist in troubleshooting and calibrating automation hardware Develop training modules to support maintenance troubleshooting of process equipment Projects, Capital & Growth Interface with Engineering to ensure safe, cost-effective, and reliable project execution Write, manage, and execute capital projects, coordinating contractors and internal teams Support productivity improvements and plant capacity expansion initiatives Develop new business proposals tied to operational capability and growth Compliance, Systems & Documentation Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, corporate, and safety regulations Maintain integrity of drawings, specifications, programs, inspection records, and documentation Support all ISO system requirements Develop and expand usage of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Identify, develop, and implement training programs aligned with plant goals Recognize and reward outstanding performance Lead and support maintenance technicians and engineers Integrate maintenance into cross-functional work teams Key Success Factors (First 6–18 Months) Analyze current systems and develop a strategy for future growth Implement control system improvements to increase plant capacity and productivity Improve plant availability and equipment uptime Develop and implement formal maintenance planning and scheduling processes Establish and execute reliability programs to achieve plant targets Partner with IT to develop databases for improved process capability and insight Qualifications & Skills Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley & GE Fanuc) REQUIRED HMI programming and configuration (Wonderware, Rockwell Software) Working knowledge of Oracle databases Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation, process control theory, and computer systems Firm grasp of electrical engineering practices Experience with motors, drives, and field devices Ability to analyze technical and process-related data Experience reading and red-lining P&ID drawings Proven maintenance leadership and team management skills Excellent organizational, planning, and communication abilities Self-motivated, goal-oriented leader with strong technical judgment Experience & Education BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Process Engineering REQUIRED Ladder logic programming experience related to process automation and control 5+ years of manufacturing experience, including leadership of maintenance technicians and engineers Benefits begin Day 1 and include: 401(k) with company match up to 8% after one year #J-18808-Ljbffr
