Facilities Maintenance Intern Apply
To assist and learn facility and ground maintenance duties. Employee will assist in performing routine maintenance, groundskeeping, and/or caretaker duties. RELATIONSHIPS Reports to Facilities Maintenance Supervisor Directs - none. Cooperates or coordinates with all persons, within and outside the cooperative, as deemed necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position. SPECIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists in the maintenance of facilities and grounds in a manner consistent with an organized maintenance program. Assists with minor repairs and preventive maintenance to HVAC equipment, lighting systems, exhaust fans, equipment/tools, and office equipment. Minor plumbing and electrical skills will also be necessary. Possesses basic computer/software skills as necessary to create reports or retrieve information. Assists with quality control and inventory programs of office supplies, tools, and safety products. Requires willingness to work aloft. Expected to maintain well-organized workspaces and storage locations and perform neat paperwork. Attends and participates in various meetings. Willingness to perform duties in a wide variety of environmental conditions and elements. Ability to operate hand and power tools. Basic skill with painting and power washing. Performs other duties as requested or required by the position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Performs work in a wide variety of postures including but not limited to standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, balancing, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, stooping, and squatting. Frequently lifts, handles, carries, pushes, and pulls light and medium loads. Occasionally lifts, handles, carries, pushes, and pulls heavy loads with assistance. Frequently reaches above shoulder level. Frequently relies on the full functionality of the five basic senses (touch, taste, smell, hear, see) including the ability to distinguish a full range of colors.
