Job Description

Position Summary: Ensures the maximum amount of operational life on all equipment and building, both mechanical and electrical. Supports and maintains a safe and clean work environment and facilities. Responds to emergencies on facility & production equipment. Responsible for safety throughout the plant.


Position Scope: Oversees Facility and Safety Team

                                                                                                                     

Position Responsibility:                


Responsible for all the activities of maintenance staff, assigning jobs, and coordinating priorities from a multitude of daily work assignments given.


  • Coordinates and supervises contractors.
  • Inspect the work completed by outside contractors to ensure completeness and that the quality of work meets departmental standards.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and facility systems (HVAC, heating, air conditioning, boilers, etc.), including general building upkeep.                  
  • Conducts major repairs and consulting services on equipment for troubleshooting.
  • Performs and/or recommends upgrades in equipment as necessary, e.g., electrical hydraulic system repairs, power transmission-related repairs.
  • Oversees sanitation and trash removal in accordance with GMP guidelines.
  • May assist with the removal of snow via hand shovel and/or snow blower and salt/sand as needed.
  • Ensures cleanliness, sanitation, and daily care of the facility.
  • Maintains the supply inventory for all equipment parts and places orders as required.
  • Interfaces with vendors and oversees contractors as assigned for projects.     
  • Maintains all records and maintenance logs, as required.
  • Manages Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), handles compliance, safety inspections, OSHA requirements, and risk mitigation.
  • Responsible for safety throughout the site. 
  • Manages OSHA log.
  • Performs and/or manages safety training programs.
  • Leader of the Plant Safety Team, including providing PLT (Plant Leadership Team) updates as needed.
  • Performs projects assigned, i.e., moving furniture, wall repairs, painting¸ general building upkeep.
  • May operate the facility security system.
  • Manages emergency response protocols.    
  • Handles local, state, and federal facility registrations.
  • Responsible for the overall pest control management.
  • Satisfactory completion of appropriate corporate training as related to the position and/or department.
  • Assures compliance by following Food and Drug Administration's Good Manufacturing Practices and OSHA standards, as well as other regulatory standards as required by the department.
  • Contributes to overall achievement by accomplishing related tasks and demonstrating characteristics that exemplify team building and support.

Salary: $80k-$120k


QUALIFICATIONS


Experience and Skills:


  • Six years’ experience in repair and maintenance of equipment (facilities or manufacturing, packaging equipment, depending upon the specific role)
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools properly and safely.
  • Ability to use a computer and proficient in Microsoft 365.
  • Must have the ability to learn, take instruction, and complete work assignments in an expeditious manner, professionally handle assignments, and communicate with management.


Education and Certifications:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • B.S. in Engineering, Business Administration, and/or related major is a plus.
  • Certifications in electrical, welding, plumbing, and/or building management are a plus.
