The Town of Fountain Hills (fountainhillsaz.gov) is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the operation, safety, and upkeep of Town-owned and leased facilities. This position performs a wide range of preventive maintenance and repair activities across municipal facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance. A background in HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting is preferred. This position performs a variety of general maintenance duties required to maintain the safety, aesthetics and physical plant operations of Town owned and/or leased facilities. This position reports to the Facilities Supervisor. Position open until filled with applications reviewed weekly. Responsibilities Performs preventive maintenance on all Town physical plant operations, such as HVAC equipment. Maintains records for all preventive maintenance. Performs a variety of tasks related to plumbing, electrical, fabrication, carpentry and HVAC operations. Responds to requests received through the Maintenance Request system for maintenance/repairs of all Town owned/leased facilities. Distributes supply requests. Performs facility safety inspections, ensures all life safety functions operate properly. Supplies and supports custodial positions, filling in for custodians during their absence. Performs the tasks of Facility Supervisor in his/her absence. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of high school diploma or equivalency. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills Three years of responsible experience in construction, commercial building maintenance; basic skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical and plant maintenance. Possession of a valid driver's license for a minimum of two years with a good driving record. The Town currently designates this job as a "safety-sensitive position." Accordingly, the Town requires satisfactory completion of a drug and alcohol screening as a condition of employment. Equivalent combinations of experience and training that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted. Must be able to read and comprehend technical manuals and construction blueprints. Must be able to perform basic math calculations. Must be able to communicate legibly in completing forms, work orders, supply requisitions and messaging. Liaison to custodial staff. Perform a diverse range of duties and responsibilities Ability to interact with peers and public in a positive and professional manner. #J-18808-Ljbffr
