- Description of the Position
Responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of company facilities. This role combines technical expertise with operational coordination to ensure that facilities, utilities, and building systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations. In addition to coordinating maintenance and vendor services, this position provides technical support in HVAC system design, CAD drafting, and facility layout. The position contributes to capital projects, space planning, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
- Essential Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Inspect, monitor, and support the upkeep of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and utility systems.
- Coordinate daily tasks and assignments of technicians and handymen to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair activities.
- Evaluate the execution and track preventive and corrective maintenance activities using CMMS.
- Conduct routine inspections, walk-throughs, and audits to identify facility issues and coordinate corrective actions.
- Respond to emergency situations, business continuity needs, and facility-related incidents.
HVAC Design & Engineering Support
- Perform HVAC load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.
- Support room balancing, pressurization, and comfort control systems.
- Optimize HVAC performance for energy efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in commissioning and validation of HVAC and utility systems.
CAD Drafting & Documentation
- Prepare, update, and maintain CAD drawings for facility layouts, utilities, and mechanical designs.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to develop as-built documentation.
- Ensure drawings and technical documents comply with company standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and construction drawings.
Project Management & Vendor Coordination
- Support small to medium-scale projects including renovations, utility upgrades, and equipment installations.
- Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and scope tracking for assigned projects.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes.
- Oversee contractor performance for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Vendor management, project coordination, and contractor oversight.
Compliance, Safety & Environmental Programs
- Support facilities compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, local building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Assist with audits, inspections, and required reporting for local and federal agencies.
- Support risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and emergency preparedness.
- Promote sustainability initiatives related to energy, water, and waste reduction.
Administrative & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, maintenance logs, CAD drawings, permits, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare reports on facility metrics, maintenance KPIs, and project progress.
- Recommend improvements for cost savings, operational efficiency, and sustainability.
- Support inventory management of critical spares, materials, and supplies.

- Education, Skills, and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or Facilities Engineering, preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities operations, engineering support, and/or project coordination or equivalent technical experience with proven expertise in CAD floorplans and mechanical design, required.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD or equivalent). CAD drafting and mechanical design development.
- Experience supervising, coordinating, or leading personnel
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles, load calculations, air balancing, analysis and optimization.
- Familiarity with building systems (electrical, plumbing, fire protection, BMS) and technical troubleshooting.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Experience with CMMS, project management tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance standards.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s licenses
