Facilities Welder Apply
Job Summary:
Lend strength to Bethel Church of Redding to see the expansion of God’s
kingdom by ensuring the completion of projects that will enhance the
experience of staff and visitors, demonstrating God’s love, excellence and
beauty.
The Project Team Welder is responsible for the layout, fit, and fabrication
of metal components to assemble structural forms, fabrication of
equipment and furniture to facilitate the Bethel campuses. Expansive
knowledge of welding techniques and understanding of metals and their
proper use, and a degree of engineering skills. Read and interpret
construction drawings and specifications for specific welding jobs.
Top Responsibilities:
- Design and fabricate components needed for various projects.
- Layout, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
- Tack-weld and weld components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, and other welding equipment.
- Cut workpieces, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knives.
- Install and repair equipment, such as landscape equipment and school related playground equipment.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Attend and complete safety training related to occupational work conditions and safety hazards as required by the Facilities Department.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks as requested.

Position Type: Hourly, Zero Hour
Hours: 0-9 Weekly Hours
Salary Range: $45.00 per hour
Requirements
Required
- Believes and adheres to the beliefs and vision of Bethel Church
- Current, valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Previous experience as a welder
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Experience using power equipment
- Knowledge and welding ability of various metals such as steel and aluminum
- *Knowledge of Federal and State safety rules and regulations as well as occupational hazards and safety precautions (OSHA)
- *Ability to use a computerized organizational system and/or software such as Google Calendar, Google Drive and Google Mail
*Required within 3 months of start date.
Preferred
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production
- Related educational experience or training
- Welding certification
