Position Overview Under limited supervision, performs Facility Operations job functions as assigned by management. Typical job responsibilities include assisting and supporting management in ensuring that all site operations are conducted in a manner that is safe, cost effective, and fully compliant with Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership procedures and all contractual, statutory, and regulatory requirements. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned: Responsibilities Applies the 5 core functions of Integrated Safety Management to all work planning and execution and actively promotes and takes ownership of the Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership Safety Work Group program Plans, schedules and organizes the work to ensure utilization of employees and compliance with all contract requirements, quality standards and budgetary guidelines Ensures staffing levels of supervised personnel are maintained in a manner which allows the effective execution of the assigned scope of work at all times Responds to call-outs during off-shift hours Identifies and enters work orders into the maintenance management system (somax) Responsible for ensuring radiological, industrial hygiene, industrial safety and nuclear criticality safety controls are properly utilized in the work area assigned Responsible for implementing temperature extreme program for assigned personnel Responsible for developing and issuing LOTO permits and valve line‑ups Instructs employees on the work methods and performance expectations Provides leadership and motivation to subordinate personnel Interfaces with groups inside and outside the organization, senior management, and auditors; may be assigned special projects Responsible for providing direction, training, and evaluation of Operations personnel Assists with the development or review/update of various plans, policies or procedures as needed Assists with maintaining positive employee relations Responsible for group supervision and administration May provide presentations to project senior management Assists in the preparation and implementation of approved Operations program Monitors activities to ensure compliance with the project's policies, procedures, goals and objectives Manages office operations to ensure adequate operations services are provided Supervises continuous maintenance of control systems employed to facilitate execution of client and project goals Provides technical and/or functional support to the Operations and Deactivation teams Perform duties complex in nature Other job related duties as assigned Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner. If supervising others, has responsibility for the safety of those being supervised and ensures they comply with established safety policies and procedures and practice safe work habits. Actively participates in Safety Work Groups. Minimum Requirements BA/BS degree in a related field and 7 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Typical experience ranges from 7-10 years. Strong interpersonal and communication, and problem solving skills Knowledge of and experience with nuclear facility operations Knowledge of and experience with DOE nuclear facility safety including technical safety requirements, processes and reporting requirements Attention to detail Expert PC skills including Microsoft software DOE "L" or "Q" clearance or ability to obtain a DOE "L" or "Q" clearance Working Conditions Work in an office at a normal environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities or industrial field environments). May also work at off-project sites representing the organization at various types of locations throughout the community for business purposes. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed. Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires usage of a two person "buddy system"), non-repetitive, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching. Work in an environmental restoration atmosphere in older Radiological and/or Category II Nuclear Facilities. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed. Ability to work in confined areas, tanks, temperature extreme conditions, high noise and areas with radiation and chemical hazards. Ability to wear respirator and other protective equipment on a daily basis to enter various types of potentially hazardous areas (such as but not limited to radiological, chemical, dust fumes, mists, heat stress factors, etc.). Ability to perform primary office duties including heavy computer usage.
