EPIC Early Learning is currently hiring a dedicated and experienced Head Start Family Health Facilitator to join our team. As a private, nonprofit organization, EPIC has been providing early childhood educational services to children and families in Central Washington for over 35 years. Our mission is to ensure that every child has the best possible start in life by creating a nurturing and supportive environment that promotes their emotional, social, and intellectual growth.

As a Head Start Family Health Coordinator, you will monitor and support family and health services and the well-being of our children and families. You will coordinate and implement health services for enrolled families and facilitate communication and collaboration between families, healthcare providers, and community resources. Additionally, you will provide education and support to families on various health topics ensuring all work is done under the Head Start Performance Standards, USDA requirements, state licensing requirements, and agency policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement health services for enrolled families
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between families, healthcare providers, and community resources
  • Provide day-to-day support to staff to ensure compliance and quality of health, nutrition, and safety services.  Monitor and provide follow-up for health, nutrition and safety activities in conjunction with the Assistant Center Manager.
  • In collaboration with the Assistant Center Managers at Jefferson and East Yakima, assist families to obtain well-child exams and complete dental exams for the enrolled child(ren). Ensuring all necessary paperwork is submitted and kept on file per the performance standards.
  • Assure implementation of all health activities including individualized health care plans, referrals and follow up.
  • Ensure timely, accurate documentation and reporting of health, nutrition, and safety areas, and proactively addressing concerns as they emerge.
  • Assist the Assistant Center Manager and Center Manger to assemble and maintain the Child and Family file assuring that are files are kept confidential.
  • Ensure that EPIC’s early childhood programs are operating at a high level of quality at all times so that children’s welfare, safety and school readiness are of primary focus.
  • Be committed to maintaining a culture of safety within our centers, playgrounds, buses, and anywhere that children may be present. Be familiar with and encourage EPIC's culture of "See Something, Say Something".

Requirements

  • Minimum of an AA with the equivalent of 30 college quarter credits of adult education, human development, human services, family support, social work, early childhood education, child development, psychology, or another field directly related to their job responsibilities OR  commit to a training plan established through Staff Development to meet this goal within 5 years of hire.
  • At least three years of demonstrated related experience working in an ECEAP/Head Start/Migrant Head Start, child care or other comparable programs
  • Experience with low-income families
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience coordinating and implementing health services or programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent bilingual skills (English/Spanish)

Pay Level

$28.00 to $ 32.00 (Hourly Management)

  3. Must pass an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).
  4. Provide proof of MMR vaccination and/ or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella.
  5. Current Food Handlers card (obtain the training within 30 days of employment).
  6. Current First Aid/CPR card (obtain within 30 days of employment).
  7. Complete Childcare Basics 30 hours STARS training within 3 months of hire
  8. Meet the minimum education requirements within the timeframe as stated in the performance standards.
  9. Complete Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.
  10. CEO Approval.
