Family Medicine Physician – Position Description
Position Overview
The Family Medicine Physician provides comprehensive, continuous primary care to patients across the lifespan, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. This role focuses on preventive care, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions, and coordination of care across the healthcare continuum to ensure high-quality, patient-centered outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary care services to patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions
- Perform routine wellness visits, physical examinations, and preventive screenings
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments as appropriate
- Perform minor in-office procedures such as suturing, biopsies, and joint injections
- Deliver patient education, counseling, and preventive health guidance
- Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, and allied health professionals
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and organizational standards

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
- Current, unrestricted state medical license (or eligibility)
- DEA registration (or eligibility)
- Strong clinical judgment with a patient-centered approach
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in outpatient or community-based primary care
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Interest or experience in preventive medicine and population health initiatives
- Bilingual language skills (practice dependent)
