Family Support Specialist: Resilient Roots Family Wellness Center

Are you passionate about supporting families impacted by behavioral health challenges and helping them access vital resources? Allied Behavioral Health Solutions, a locally owned organization, is seeking a Family Support Specialist to join our Resilient Roots Family Wellness Center team. Our mission is to foster stronger, healthier communities by increasing access to high-quality behavioral health services. What You'll Do:

Your primary role will be to support families impacted by opioid use. You'll build trusting relationships with families, conduct needs assessments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized support plans. As a family advocate, you'll help navigate systems such as healthcare and education, and connect families to essential resources, from financial assistance to housing.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Family Engagement:
    • Build trusting relationships with families and caregivers through regular communication and home visits.
    • Conduct needs assessments to identify family strengths, challenges, and goals.
    • Develop and implement individualized family support plans in collaboration with families and the behavioral health team to support goals of addressing perinatal mental health concerns, early childhood developmental needs,and family reunification.
  • Resource Coordination:
    • Connect families with community resources, services, and support networks in Rutherford and surrounding counties.
    • Assist families in navigating systems such as healthcare, education, and social services.
    • Provide information and guidance on accessing financial assistance, housing, and other essential services.
  • Advocacy:
    • Advocate for the needs and rights of families and children within various systems and settings.
    • Offer emotional support, guidance, and practical assistance to families in crisis.
    • Facilitate support groups and workshops for parents and caregivers to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with clinicians, case managers, and other professionals as needed to support family goals.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss family progress and coordinate care.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all interactions and services provided.
  • Education & Training:
    • Educate families about behavioral health conditions, treatment options, and other aspects of child development and parenting in collaboration with behavioral health providers.
    • Provide training on parenting techniques, stress management, and effective communication.
    • Stay informed about the latest research, best practices, and resources in the field of children's behavioral health.
What We're Looking For:
  • TDMHSAS Family Support Specialist Certification (required)
  • 2+ years of experience in a behavioral health or social services setting
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field (preferred)
