Roles:
Farmer's Market and Sales Assistant.
Our mushroom farm is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Farmer's Market Sales Associate and back up person for our fresh deliveries. In this role, you will be responsible for representing our company at local farmer's markets, engaging with customers, and driving sales of our fresh produce and goods and assisting in keeping our sales records in order.
Farmers Market staff will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the onsite, weekly Farmer's Market and assisting when needed with our local deliveries for restaurants and chefs. The position will entail approximately 16-20 hours per week. Farmer's Markets are held on Saturdays at the Las Cruces Farmer's Market.
Alongside the market position, this role will help with administrative work related to sales one day during the week.
Job Duties for Market Staff:
- Set up and tear down equipment, and ensure that market operations run smoothly throughout each market day.
- Have a thorough understanding of Full Circle Mushrooms vision, products, kinds of mushrooms and effectively communicate this to our customers. Learning about mushrooms and recipes is a requirement.
- Represent Full Circle Mushrooms in other pop-up markets or events
- Report and take pictures/videos for social media.
- Set up and dismantle the market stall according to company guidelines.
- Display and arrange products attractively to maximize visibility and sales.
- Greet customers in a friendly and approachable manner, providing information about our products and offerings.
- Handle transactions accurately and efficiently, using POS systems or cash handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the market stall throughout the day.
- Keep track of inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management.
- Represent the company in a professional manner, upholding our brand image and values at all times.
Job Duties for Sales Assistant :
- Learn internal record keeping systems.
- Organize and file documents.
- Handle cash and payments.
- Keep track of internal inventory.
- Assist with outreach communication such as social media, newsletters, etc.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for transportation of the market produce to and from farmer's markets (miles reimbursed).
- Cultural competency to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to count money and do basic math in a busy environment.
- Respond to issues that arise creatively, efficiently, and effectively, adept at multitasking.
- Work long hours on your feet in all weather conditions.
- Lift at least 50 pounds safely.
- Current or able to obtain a Health Department Food Handlers Permit.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- Must be proficient in excel (we will ask for a demonstration on basic skills)
- Must be proficient in social media ( we will ask for demonstration)
- Great communication verbal and written skills (we will ask for demonstration)
- Spanish is a plus
