Job Description: The Structural Field Engineer provides on-site technical support and oversight for structural components of construction projects. Working alongside the Project Manager and Site Superintendent, this role ensures structural work is executed according to design specifications, codes, safety standards, and quality requirements. The Structural Field Engineer plays a key role in problem-solving, coordinating with subcontractors and design teams, and verifying that structural systems are built to last.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and supervise structural construction activities on site.
  • Review and interpret structural drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Conduct field inspections to verify compliance with design standards, codes, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve technical issues.
  • Track project progress, report daily site activities, and support scheduling efforts.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Support preparation of RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Assist with project close-out, punch lists, and final structural inspections.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of structural engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.
  • Ability to interpret and apply structural drawings, codes, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and structural/construction software (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Procore).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and adapt to changing site conditions

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
  • 3 years of relevant field engineering or site supervision experience (internship or co-op experience acceptable for entry-level).
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
    • Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.
