Position: Field Service Engineer (Associate-Level)

Locations: Columbus, OH | Phoenix, AZ | Atlanta, GA | Northern VA (near Dulles Airport)
Travel: 80 90% (must respond to emergency calls within 2 hours)

In this role, you will provide on-site service, installation supervision, testing, commissioning, and maintenance for electrical power distribution systems. You will work directly at customer sites and ensure safety, reliability, and high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, test, commission, and repair low-voltage distribution gear, switchgear, panels, and transformers

  • Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs

  • Prepare service reports, test sheets, and maintain tool/spare part logs

  • Follow all safety rules and site regulations

  • Participate in site meetings and coordinate with Project Managers

  • Provide professional customer support and escalate issues when needed

  • Communicate job status with internal teams

  • Identify areas for improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency

Required Skills & Experience
  • Associate-level electrical degree or 5+ years of relevant experience (military/data center preferred)

  • Strong hands-on experience with electrical distribution systems, AC/DC power, and power monitoring

  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and operate test equipment (multimeter, current meter, etc.)

  • Knowledge of UL standards (UL67, UL1008, UL891, UL1558)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record

  • Willing to travel 80 90%, including weekends, overtime, and on-call

  • Must be able to reach emergency sites within 2 hours
