Job Description
Join a leading manufacturer and designer of world-class rotary actuators and automated assembly equipment. Our company is dedicated to supplying high-quality actuator products and automation systems across various sectors, including general industry, automotive, and off-road OEMs. We are seeking two Field Service Technicians to support our diverse customer base with the debugging and commissioning of our equipment.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment at customer locations.
- Diagnose electrical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their electrical needs and provide technical support.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure the reliability of electrical systems.
- Utilize technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to perform accurate repairs.
- Keep detailed records of service activities, including maintenance logs and customer communication.
- Provide daily field service reports during customer on-site work.
- Provide on-call support for emergency repairs and technical issues.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to communicate feedback on product performance and suggest improvements.
- Provide assistance to the assembly floor and participate in machine debugging.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to enhance technical knowledge.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while working on-site.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in machine maintenance / field service.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Controls Software (Allen-Bradley/Siemens).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (valid Passport).
- Strong communication skills with prior customer-facing experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of measurement and electro-mechanical devices, PLCs, electrical controls components and PLC software.
- An Associates Degree in MET, EET, Mechatronics, or Advanced Automation is a plus.
- Experience with GM FACS (Allen-Bradley) or Ford FAST (Siemens S7) is desirable.
This role operates on a 1st shift schedule. Candidates are preferred to be local to assist with machine build, panel build, and controls support prior to commissioning. The position involves approximately 50% travel to locations including Lafayette, IN; Cleveland and Lima, OH; Flint, MI; Essex, Windsor Canada; Alabama; and Booneville, MS.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Berne, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
