A third-party partner is seeking Field Service Engineers to install, troubleshoot, and repair electron microscopes at customer facilities. These roles involve traveling to various customer sites and working independently to ensure equipment is fully functional and meets customer specifications. Positions are available in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Portland, OR; Minneapolis, MN; and Austin, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Install new or modified electron microscopes at customer facilities to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
  • Diagnose and repair electron microscopes within the assigned territory.
  • Review reports and documentation from customers and inspect malfunctioning instruments to determine the nature and scope of the problem.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, supervisors, and other relevant parties to accomplish tasks.
  • Resolve instrument problems or prepare reports of findings and recommendations; refer complex issues to the appropriate individuals.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in resolving technical issues.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Complete and submit field service reports and weekly expense reports.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in engineering or a related science field from an accredited institution, plus at least 6 months of experience in electronics or a related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness to travel by car to customer sites for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electron microscopes.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Hands-on experience with the installation and repair of equipment.
  • Knowledge of analog, digital, and RF electronics.
  • Basic understanding of troubleshooting techniques and approaches.
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and assess complex mechanical components.
