Description The primary responsibility of the Field Service Technician is to diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul machinery and vehicles out at customer locations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Record details of repairs made, and parts used. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments as necessary. Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems. Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions. Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools. Use diagnostic equipment to properly diagnose and reprogram ECU’s when needed. Write up description of repairs for billing. Contact customers regarding repairs needed and completed while in the field. Communicate with service office regarding scheduling of return appointments needed. Keep up to date on all training requirements. Maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle. Report maintenance needs of vehicle to service manager. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and OEM Diagnostic software. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma/ GED 2-5 years of service technician experience LANGUAGE AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to management. REASONING ABILITY Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATION Forklift certified preferred Kubota Registered Technician preferred Valid Driver’s license (CDL & Med card Preferred) PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
