Finance and Operations Manager

The Finance and Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the Health Systems Quality Assurance (HSQA) departments $281 million budget, ensuring its alignment with agency goals and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Serving as an advisor to divisional leadership, they provide essential guidance on financial matters and facilitate the effective allocation of resources within the division and its programs. Additionally, they offer leadership and support to the Financial Services team, ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes and procedures to support HSQA's mission.

In this role, the focus is on accountability, collaboration, effective communication, managing complexity, decision-making, financial acumen, a global perspective, innovation, networking, self-awareness, trust-building, creating a success-driven environment, and proactive leadership.

The duty station for this position is in Tumwater, WA. Telework (mobile work) is currently expected. Required in-office work is infrequent and would be scheduled in advance.

Option 1: A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; and, two (2) or more years of professional experience in business accounting, budget or related field. Experience should include leading the financial aspects of an organization, FTE management, financial reporting, account maintenance and reconciliation, budget development and maintenance, revenue forecasting, chart of accounts development, and providing financial consultation.


OR


Option 2: Six (6) or more years of professional experience in business accounting, budget or related field. Experience should include leading the financial aspects of an organization, FTE management, financial reporting, account maintenance and reconciliation, budget development and maintenance, revenue forecasting, chart of accounts development, and providing financial consultation.


AND


Two (2) or more years of experience providing leadership, supervision or acting as a lead worker providing guidance, support, and feedback to others in the performance of financial functions, duties or tasks.
